1/35 Tamiya TIRAN-5 Israeli MBT

Always enjoyed the look and toughness of the Russian T-55, T-62 series tanks.  Recently I have been on a mission to build older to more modern IDF hardware including the captured T-55 they renamed the "TIRAN" following a comprehensive modernization refit to the main hull and turrets.  I selected the TAMIYA version because frankly its a TAMIYA, and the box art looks great.  A great starting place for references is the actual box art, at least this worked for me.   This model was built "out of the box" (OOB).   I did not feel the need to add more to this already very detailed model although there are many aftermarket accessories available for this particular kit, as well as, the T-55 in general.  You must be careful when adding because the IDF had their own upgrade program and many of the vehicles upgrades are unique to only this variant.  The 1st few pictures below show the TIRAN in comparison to the IDF ISHERMAN which is again an IDF upgrade to an older MBT; In this case it is the venerable WW2 Sherman.  I have photo's of that build on this webpage also.  As you can see I had some fun with the weathering.  My joy adding weathering to projects is a primary reason I enjoy projects of IDF battle wagons.  The are well used in real life, battle worn, battle proven, and exposed to harsh environments found in the region such as desert dust and dryness.  I have completed almost all of the MBTs used by the IDF some of them shown in this website.  Overall, as with most of my modeling projects this was an enjoyable and overall fun build!  Please enjoy.  Feedback is welcomed.
